.. today marks the day the world lost a loving & caring soul, my sister Cathy.. she suffered and died of Cancer 20 years ago.. I say suffer because she did not live "with" Cancer but suffered for a very long time with it.. she did not let it break her spirit, she always made me laugh and she was always loving & kind to others and would do anything for anyone.. she did not know a stranger.. she was my best friend.. I miss u Cathy and think about u every single day of my life and always will..

.. I love the outdoors more than I ever have now.. shadows are just frosting on the cake :) this was late summer, early fall of last year.. I was eagerly awaiting autumn, dying to see some color appear somewhere.. daring it to peek out so I could snag a little of it.. u see those 3 small trees on the left, in front of the large row? .. they were just starting to turn and got snagged.. lol

.. well actually there's more than one but these darlings are just precious.. on my way to London, Ohio I say hello often and got lucky one day and had the pleasure to be able to take their photo and they didn't seem to mind.. They looked at me like I was a tad bit crazy but I just adore them.. this was last summer.. now that it's winter, I only see them from afar if at all.. aren't they cute? .. :)

My favorite rose photo (so far)

.. grown from my own garden, early spring, the sun was shining & I was experimenting with lighting at my kitchen table, armed with a white poster board & the blinds hanging from the kitchen.. I think I took over 90 photos of just this one rose.. my youngest thought I was crazy.. I love the way it turned out.. I can never get tired of looking at a rose and I get to keep mine for as long as I have the photo :)

.. even though most of what had snow was only the ground by this time, I still managed to get some good shots.. the sun was out and it was decieving because if you looked out the window, you would think it was sorta nice and warmer than it looked.. I love untouched snow and even some occasional animal tracks if there are some.. this day I saw some tracks down the road but the shot wasn't good at all.. I will settle for this any day.. this one was also taken on my way to London, Ohio but I'm not really sure as to what city it was since there are so many small ones between here and there ... isn't the blues just awesome? ... my favorite color.. :)

.. the weather outside is just what I call "crispy" .. cold but with very little snow.. the above photo was taken during our first snow but in West Jefferson, Ohio .. in the background there's a railroad track.. most of my photos that are taken outside, the vehicle I'm in is going between 35mph to 55mph and I have the window down so I have to wear gloves when it's cold.. I'm afraid one of these days I'm going to drop my camera but I have to get the shots when I can.. I don't know why I'm posting this because last night my furnace went out and it was only 4 degrees and it got "cold" in here .. I suppose it's the love the snow thing...

.. I cannot leave here today without leaving a photo of our first snow.. I had the wonderful privilege of being able to go out and get some photos on my way to London, Ohio .. this is NOT my home so I won't be saying exactly where it is.. but I adore this place.. it made the perfect snow photo and reminds me of Christmas.. I could only "hope" to maybe one day own and live in something like this.. nearly everything I saw that day, was beautiful.. newly fallin snow and untouched.. peaceful and blissful.. the air was crisp and clean.. made you appreciate living...

One of my own red roses..

... this red rose was one of the first that bloomed last spring.. very few grew and bloomed but what did bloom was very beautiful... I made sure and took many photos of each one as they were blooming.. this is one of the photos I call "staged" because I brought it indoors and used a plain white poster board as a background and took the photo.. the rose is real but I placed it and deliberately set the rose on one side so I could use the photo for many things.. you know, thinking like an imager again kinda thing ;)

Something as simple as a rock...

... yes I know it's a rock.. lol .. but I "think" like an imager and have loved graphics for so long now that, what may be a simple rock to you, could be so much more "to me" if I were looking through someone elses photos, looking for a great photo to make a picture tube from.. this wouldn't be the "best" choice but it could be a starter and with some fine tunings, it could be a fantastic rock to crop out from the rest of the surroundings and you could very easily end up with a rock for something else to sit apon for a tag graphic.. I know you won't understand my "graphic talk" unless you are an imager or graphic person but I must at least "try" and explain my undying love to take pictures of rocks, stones, boulders, bridges, logs or anything else that you could possibly sit on.. lol

.. this photo is from last spring.. when I took up photography, I noticed much more in the world than I ever had before.. there's beauty in every single thing.. even the bark flaking off of a tree.. the texture & colors got my attention.. the peacefulness of the trees and woodlands surrounding the tree, kept me there and kept me wanting to go back..

.. I'm in central Ohio so all the pics that I post are in Ohio.. I don't take vacations or leave my state and/or country.. Ohio is a beautiful place (just like everywhere else) .. I just didn't know it as well as I have since my dad passed away last January.. that's when I "needed" to do something different & this was it.. I'm new to it all & u can probably tell but I'm learning & not only enjoying it but it's given me a sense of inner peace.. these pics won't be in order sinse I have past the mark of taking over 10,000 so far.. many-a-day I don't know exactly where I am or even the city.. it's just me taking peaceful drives & enjoying the scenery, weather, smells & atmosphere.. if no one comes here, that's fine with me.. it's my own therapy & it makes me happy.. if u happen to stumble apon this place, I hope u enjoy just a little of what I'm sharing..
